Once you and your baby are home from the hospital, call your baby's health care provider as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for your baby's first check-up. The first visit should be 2 to 5 days after leaving the hospital. The first check-up is a good time to ask questions and generally see that you are doing a fine job as a new parent. It is important that you feel comfortable communicating with your baby's health car provider, as you will be in contact often throughout you baby's childhood.
