    CPMC, St. Luke's Campus

    California Pacific Medical Center, St. Luke's Campus is located in the southern part of San Francisco and provides services for patients from all over San Francisco and the Bay Area. Near by are the Noe Valley and Mission District communities. Our staff and clinical professionals strive to provide an environment that is warm and comforting for all women.

    Family-Centered Childbirth

    When you deliver a baby at St. Luke's Campus, you are assured of personal attention and excellent care. We work with you to provide you with the experience you desire.

    • St. Luke's Campus delivers 1200 babies each year
    • Comfortable labor/delivery/recovery birthing suites
    • One of the lowest cesarean rates in California (14%)
    • Experienced in "natural" and "high-risk" deliveries
    • "Rooming In" Mother-Baby care model is offered after delivery – your baby stays with you!
    • Breastfeeding assistance is available in the hospital or after you go home
    • Diabetes Education Program for women with diabetes or diagnosed with gestational diabetes
    • Culturally and ethnically diverse staff available to provide culturally sensitive care

    Nursery

    • 24-hour in-hospital pediatrician for newborn exams and infants
    • 24-Hour Newborn Nursery offering respite for "Rooming In" moms
    • 24-hour Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with neonatologist for high-risk infants (level II)
    • Great care for premature and ill newborns
    • Developmentally oriented Nursery with Kangarooing and co-bedding (for multiples)

    Additional Services & Classes

    • 24-hour rooming in available. You choose whether you want your new baby to stay with you or to stay in the nursery
    • Volunteer Infant Cuddling Program
    • Newborn Hearing Screening/Audiology Services
    • Mothers who have been discharged and have infants in the NICU are offered a room to stay in near their baby, when space permits. This service is offered free of charge to our parents
    • Maternity Education Program that includes: Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding Education and Infant/Child CPR (offered in English & Spanish)

    Your Medical and Care Team will Include:

    • Board Certified Obstetricians/Gynecologists

    • Board Certified Anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA)
    • 24 hours a day/7 days a week Pediatricians (on the premises)

    • Board Certified Neonatologists
    • Certified Nurse Midwives
    • Experienced Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby and Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nursing staff
    • 100% Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Certified in Advanced Fetal Monitoring
    • 100% completed NRP(Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • Lactation Specialist (Registered Nurse, ILABC)
    • Perinatal Medical Social Worker
    • Perinatal Case Manager
    We also realize that you may want to have birth coaches, doulas and other individuals present during your delivery. We welcome you to share your needs and birthplans with us.
